117 graduates from TES last batch to pass out

The 24 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) would be the last batch of the officers who would pass out from the famed portals of Indian Military Academy (IMA). In order to reduce burden on country’s premier military training institute the top army authorities have decided to shift the training of technical graduates to Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya. On Saturday, the last batch of 117 TES graduates would pass out from the IMA portals.

The IMA started training the Technical graduates from 1999 and hundreds of technical graduates have passed out from the academy since then. The army has now decided to shift the training of these graduates to the OTA Gaya. Incidentally the OTA Gaya is having resources for the training as less than 100 officers are passing out from here. The IMA has a full strength of 700 Gentlemen Cadets (GC) and though less than 700 normal course cadets pass out twice a year the officials of the academy had long felt that the technical graduates should be trained elsewhere. The technical graduates are trained in the engineering at the Cadet Training Wing (CTW) Pune, Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) Mhow and MCTE Sikandarabad.
