The former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat has alleged that the State Government under Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has taken 110 “anti-public interest” decisions during the last 100 days. He also said that he wanted to analyse the State Government’s performance after one year but added that being a party worker it was his duty to highlight inefficiency of the government. He said, “It is very depressing that the state Government has taken such decisions which are anti-public so they should take corrective measures with immediate effect.”
The former Chief Minister referred to the recent farmer suicides, agriculture production and several decisions which were taken by him between 2014-2017, which have been dumped by the present Government. They did not conduct Vidhan Sabha session at Gairsain. The state government has stopped the construction work of secretariat and Vidhan Sabha, not releasing budget for it; it had dissolved the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple committee, scrapped the license of an air service company without giving time to aggrieved company. There are anomalies in Char Dham and more than 50 pilgrims have lost their lives on the Char Dham Yatra so far. The contribution of the Nehru Institute of Mountaineer (NIM) has been diluted in the reconstruction at Kedarnath. Rawat further said that by giving nomenclature of all weather road the government has also sent a message that Uttarakhand roads are hazardous. The former CM said, “The government has also deducted agriculture department’s budget by 18 per cent while also reducing the budget of the social welfare department by 27 per cent. They did not mention about the horticulture, medicinal plant programme in the state budget. The size of their budget is Rs 700 crore less than the budget for the previous financial year in addition to which the size of the district plan has been reduced too.”
