The three-day celebration of the 103rd annual day of the Tarapeeth Mahanand Mission ended with a medley of devotional songs, dance ballet and painting competition for the students at the premises of the mission at Pahari Bazar in Kankhal on Wednesday. Besides, a day- long free medical camp was organised on the occasion.
The head of the mission Ratna Giri Mata said that as God is indwelling every soul the real service to God is to serve the men in distress. “We worship the Divine through service rendered to the souls in distress. We believe that this is the supreme goal of human life-to serve the suffering humanity taking each soul as direct manifestation of the Divine,” she said.
Hundreds of people got their blood tests done and consulted the physiotherapists and dental practitioners present at the medical camp. Dr Dilip Kumar and Dr Maitreyi Bhaumik who came from Kolkata aside from two local doctors rendered free check- up service to those who came to the camp. Free medicines were also distributed among the elderly on the occasion.
The national secretary of the mission Ashok Sinha said that the mission was founded on the principle of ‘Those who live for others live for God.’ “The mission has been thriving on this principle for years,” he added.
