Around 100 houses being constructed under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) at Durgapur in lake city Nainital for rehabilitation of families living in disaster prone areas, are likely to be ready by March 31 this year.
A total 200 houses are being constructed under the JNNURM at Rs 9.30 crore at Durgapur which have been identified as ‘danger zones’ from natural disaster point of view and other areas. So far around 100 houses are likely to be ready by March end, rest of the houses i.e. 100 houses are also expected to be ready by April end, as the officials the Nainital district administration said.
The officials further informed that houses will be allotted to the needy families through a lottery system in the first week of April. Meanwhile, the district administration has instructed officials of different agencies associated with construction of the houses to expedite pace of works so that the houses could be constructed as per schedule.
