A 10- year- old girl was allegedly hacked to death by an unidentified person in Gadarjura village, Manglour under Haridwar district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Muskan, daughter of Inam who is a tractor driver.
She was playing outside her house at around 10 am when she disappeared. As the deceased’s elder sister Sadreena went to first floor of the house she saw her younger sister lying in a pool of blood in their uncle’s under-construction house. She was found dead. Senior police officers rushed to the spot upon being informed and inspected the area.
A case under appropriate sections of IPC against unidentified persons has been registered in Manglour police station. Team has been formed to investigate the case, said a Manglour police station officer, adding that the funeral was held after completion of the post-mortem. Some suspects are being questioned, he said.
CO Prakshit Kumar, however, said that police have got some clues regarding the case. One of the family members might have committed the crime, he said, adding that police are working hard to arrest the accused at the earliest.
