Dharam Chand, a wage earner and resident of Anneki village under SIIDCUl police station, died as the roof of his house collapsed on him and other members of his family around 9 am on Thursday. Four others were injured and rushed to the metro hospital. They were stated to be out of danger. The house was in a dilapidated state, neighbours of the deceased said. It is further learnt that Dharam Chand had taken financial assistance from a government department to build a new house. But the end came for him before the new house was built, his neighbours said.
Sub-inspector, SIIDCUl police station, Kamal Mohan Bhandari said, “As we reached the spot we found him lying buried under the debris. We rushed him to hospital, but he was declared brought dead. His son, grandson and grand-daughter sustained injuries. They are now under treatment in a hospital.”
