However, these days ‘Yamraj’ can be seen on the roads in Haridwar informing the people about how to avoid contracting the COVID-19 disease. The Khadkhadi police post in Haridwar has started this initiative to elicit the attention of the citizens on important aspects related to COVID-19. As part of this effort, a police man dressed up as Yamraj is advising the public on measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 and remain safe and alive.
The police post in-charge Vijay Prakash said that this initiative was started with the intention of properly informing the public about the disease caused by novel coronavirus. He said that mobile phone caller tunes of messages related to COVID-19 have become routine so it was decided to resort to ‘Yamraj’ for spreading the message more effectively.
