In another major jolt in Moga district — third in a week — Punjab Congress”s general secretary Daljit Singh joined the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal on Wednesday.
Only a day before, Congress” face in Bagha Purana assembly constituency in Moga district Jasbir Kaur Samalsar has shifted her loyalties towards Akali Dal. Earlier, party”s Dalit face and former MlA Ajit Singh Shant had joined SAD. Besides, former Congress MlA and senior leader Ravinder Singh Sandhu “Babbal” had also left Congress to join SAD.
Joining SAD under the leadership of Ranvinder Singh Ramoowala, Daljit Singh said that he has joined Akali Dal due to pro-poor policies of Akali Dal under dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and visionary guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and party president Sukhbir Badal. He lamented that after working day and night for Congress in Moga from many years along with supporters, “no one has given us due respect, and when we tried to raise our voice in front of senior leaders, we got snubbed”.
