Inaugurating the workshop-cum-exhibition on Energy Efficient Building Materials, State Principal Secretary for Department of New and Renewable Energy Sources Anirudh Tewari emphasized upon the benefits of the Punjab Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) which has been notified and made mandatory for buildings having connected load of 100 kW and above, for construction of new buildings and saving of 30-40 percent electricity consumption as compared to the conventional buildings.
He asked the State Architecture Department to use energy efficient building materials and design ECBC compliant building at least each in every district.
