Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Wednesday said that cooperatives must work with the spirit of oneness in northern states of the country and, by working together with the ‘Ek Sabke liye, Sabke liye Ek’ spirit, these can grow and bloom.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a function organised at the National Cooperative Development Corporation in Gurugram.

He, along with the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh, inaugurated the laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development and unveiled the statue of laxmanrao, founder of Sehkar Bharti.

Manohar lal said last year, the state government celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya and worked with the spirit of Antyodaya.

Both Antyodaya and cooperatives converge on aims and objectives.

This year, work would be done on cooperatives and these would provide employment to youth, women and encourage small industries, said  he.

Founder of Sehkar Bharti, laxmanrao Inamdar had laid the foundation stone of this institution on Ganesh Chaturthi in 1978. Speaking on the occasion, Radha Mohan Singh said cooperatives were of national importance and these would play a great role in realising the vision of the Prime Minister to double the income of farmers by 2022.

RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat, said the name of the Training of Personnel in Cooperative (TOPIC) Institute, Gurugram, had been changed to laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development.
