Congress V-P Rahul Gandhi met PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa and MPs, MlAs and DCC presidents of Punjab in New Delhi and asked them to gear up for lok Sabha polls and fight unitedly to ensure victory of the party.
Rahul asked Punjab Congress leaders to highlight the failures of SAD-BJP Government and the achievements of UPA. He asked Punjab Congress leaders to stand by Bajwa and work to strengthen the party. Bajwa apprised Rahul about the problems of the people. He also briefed him on drug racket and involvement of at least three Ministers in SAD-BJP Government.
Bajwa also demanded special industrial package for the border districts of Punjab. He said that border areas of Punjab lacked in development and a special package on the pattern of hilly States must be given.
