High drama prevailed in the Gynaecology ward of Government Medical College and Hospital at Sector-32 after a UT cop was thrashed by the female staff for his alleged indecent behaviour with the female staff members on Monday morning.
Tasvir Singh, a constable of Chandigarh police was thrashed by the female staff and handed over to police. However both the parties later compromised no case was registered. He is an ex servicemen and had recently joined Chandigarh police. The incident took place in the wee hours when Tasvir Singh went to Sector-32 Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for the treatment of his son at ENT ward. The accused left his son in the ward and went to Gynaecology ward.
In the Gynaecology ward, he allegedly started passing vulgar comments to the female staff members. “However when a woman objected and requested him to go out of the gynaecology ward, the cop misbehaved with the female staff member. The woman slapped him. Seeing this, other female staff members also started thrashing him and also informed the local police about the incident,” said an eye witness. The policeman was taken to the police station of Sector-32, where both the parties agreed to compromise after Tasvir Singh apologised. No case was registered, said Maninder Singh, SHO, Police Station Sector-34, Chandigarh.
