A woman delivered a baby boy outside the General Hospital building of Bahadurgarh due to lack of arrangement of trolleys and wheelchairs at the entrance of the hospital. The incident triggered an uproar about lack of facilities in the hospital.
The staff rushed to the spot and took the woman to the labour room inside the hospital for medical treatment. later, the woman was referred to the PGIMS Rohtak in a hospital ambulance.
Sources said Sheela who belongs to a poor family of local shyam colony was brought to the General Hospital after she felt labour pain. As soon as the woman reached at the entrance gate of the hospital, she started delivering her baby.
Her kin tried to find trolley and wheel chair but to no avail. Consequently, Sheela delivered a male child at the entrance gate. The doctors and nurses on getting information about the delivery reached there and took the woman and new born inside the hospital.
Dr Renu, a Gynecologist at the hospital, told media persons that the new-born was healthy while his mother had been referred to PGIMS in Rohtak as she was suffering from anemia. “We immediately provided medical treatment to the woman as soon as the case came to our knowledge ,” said the doctor.
Meanwhile, the incident has exposed the shortage of wheel chairs and trolleys in the hospital. The attendants have to shuttle the hospital premises to find the wheel chair.
“Those patients are the worst suffers who come to the hospital for a follow-up but need wheelchairs due to difficulty in walking or standing. Their attendants have to hunt for wheelchairs all around,” said Kamal Sehrawat, an attendant.
