HEALTH MINISTER URGES CURED PATIENTS TO DONATE PLASMA

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Monday urged the people who have recovered from the Covid-19 to come forward to donate their plasma so that those who are undergoing treatment for this infection can also recover from it quickly.

Vij said only those individuals who continue to remain healthy for at least 14 days after recovering from the infection can donate their plasma and it is necessary to further ensure that at the time of donation they should be healthy.

He said the plasma which is being collected in plasma banks will be made available in Government hospitals only as of now. But in future, if the collection increases, the plasma would be provided in other hospitals too, he said.

The Health Minister further said that orders have been given to inspect all Covid hospitals in the State. In these hospitals, the availability of medicines, food and other facilities being given to the patients will be inspected.

On risks of re-infection in the infected patient, he said that till now no case has been reported in the state where a patient after testing negative for Covid-19 infection has again become positive. So far, more than 26,000 people have recovered from the virus in the State.

At least two Covid-19 positive patients can be treated with the plasma donated by a person who has recovered from the infection, he added.
