After the controversy over his statement on “namaz”, the Chief Minister Manohar lal on Wednesday said that the government will act accordingly after holding discussions with all concerned on the issue.
The Government will maintain law and order situation and act accordingly in the matter, said Manohar lal, when asked about the threat of committing self-immolation by right-wing group over allowing Muslim community to hold prayers in open space in Hindu-dominated areas.
Notably, Akhil Bharatiya Sant Parishad’s national convenor, Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati has threatened to self-immolate outside Haryana Chief Minister’s official residence in Chandigarh on May 20, if the administration allowed the Muslims to hold prayers in Hindu-dominated areas under security cover.
Recently, Manohar lal’s remarks that namaz should be restricted to mosques and eidgahs rather not open spaces, had stirred a controversy with the Opposition accusing him of dividing the society on the basis of religion.
