What was Cong role in Jat stir, asks Min

Haryana Cabinet Minister Capt. Abhimanyu on Thursday questioned Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi on why they are maintaining silence over the role of the Congress during the Jat reservation agitation in the State.

launching a scathing attack on the Congress, Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu also questioned as why Rahul Gandhi, who has a habit of visiting the spot in the event of any small happening, remained mum when Haryana was burning and has not visited Haryana after the agitation.

Responding to the allegations of Congress leader and former Speaker Kuldeep Sharma that advocate Sudeep Kalkal, who is arrested for riots is linked to BJP and RSS, the Minister accused the Congress for trying to use Sudeep Kalkal politically whereas Kalkal has worked as Manager in an establishment of former Chief Minister.

Making it clear that BJP has nothing to do with Kalkal, Capt. Abhimanyu said that it was during the tenure of previous government that Sudeep Kalkal’s wife was given job as Professor in Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan and his mother-in-law was appointed as Member in Consumer Court, Sonipat.

Kalkal is a key accused for setting Abhimanyu's house on fire as well as instigating and leading masses during the Jat agitation, which had claimed 30 lives and left more than 300 injured in the state.

last week, Congress MlA Kuldeep Sharma had released pictures of Sudeep Kalkal with Haryana ministers and Chief Minister while claiming that Kalkal is BJP man and RSS cadre who was behind the entire violence.

Capt. Abhimanyu claimed that besides Prof Virender Singh, Political Advisor to former Chief Minister, many other names have also surfaced during the investigation.

While terming the incidents of arson at his house, school and other establishments in Rohtak during the agitation as a political conspiracy, he added that the evidence and proof which are emerging out of the investigation process clearly indicate a political conspiracy behind the whole incident. Those who have come under the scanner of investigation, have a direct relation with a special group in that political party, said he while hinting at Congress party.

Suddenly, more than 80 per cent people of an Assembly Constituency had associated themselves with the reservation agitation whereas they have no association with different Jat reservation organizations for years. Similarly, incidents of arson and violence happened in Jhajjar and Beri whereas nothing   happened in Bahadurgarh and Badli. likewise, incidents occured in Kalanaur and Meham, said Capt. Abhimanyu.

He also questioned the role of public representatives of Gohana and Gannaur in the violence during agitation.

Demanding an apology from the Congress, the Finance Minister said that the leaders of the party should seek apology from the public who suffered due to violence during the Jat quota stir.

He said that the State Government has constituted Parkash Singh Commission to investigate the role of officers of police and civil administration in the Jat reservation agitation.  The Committee is investigating the facts and if found guilty, the State Government would not hesitate in taking action from the rank of Inspector General to Constable and officers of civil administration, said the Minister.
