Want action, not words: AAP to Sidhu

Joining the ongoing slanging match between Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday asked the local Bodies Minister to act rather than just talking.

AAP’s senior leader and the leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha HS Phoolka reacted sharply on Sidhu’s statement that Akalis have looted the State and funds worth Rs 400 crore sent by the Central Government were diverted for Badal family’s personal gains.

“It is well known that Badal family and their near and dears were involved in every corrupt activity in Punjab…Even after two months of completion of Capt Amarinder Singh led Congress Government, no inquiry has been initiated against the Badals,” he said.

Phoolka said that Badal family was largely benefited during the previous Government on the cost of general public. “The Congress must fulfil its promise of putting behind the bars people responsible for corrupt practices in the past. The Government must set up a commission to look into the cases related to corruption of the Akalis,” he added.
