Voluntary Disclosure Scheme for Haryana power consumers

Published on:

The officials of the Haryana Power Distribution Corporations will go at the doorsteps of consumers to facilitate those consumers who intend to declare their unauthorised extension of load voluntarily without paying any penalty under the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS).

Devender Singh, chairman and managing director, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam said, sub-divisional officer and junior engineers of each operations sub-division will hold camps in those villages, in their respective areas, where the distribution system is overloaded.

In the camps, the officials will not only provide all facilities for declaration of unauthorised extension of load, including Application and Agreement (A&A) forms, but will also motivate and persuade the consumers by telling them benefits of declaration of the load. The scheme to get the load regularised without penalty is available up to June 30. Under the VDS, the declared load will be regularised by the Discoms without imposing any penalty.

Under this scheme, the consumers are required to pay only the advance consumption security (which is payable at the time of new connection also) for the declared load. The security payable in case of agriculture load is only Rs 100 per increased KW load.

However, the benefit of the scheme will be permitted to the consumers who are not defaulters or who have made entire payment of their all outstanding dues.
