Virbhadra's threats don't scare me, says Dhumal

A day after Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh issued an apparent threat if Opposition BJP resort to mudslinging then he will hit back strongly, former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Saturday said that neither he nor Opposition is afraid of his threats.

“The BJP will fight every challenge and would continue to expose the corruption prevailing in the Government. Party has pledged to win all the four seats of lok Sabha in the State in the upcoming polls and get rid of the corrupt Government of the State,” said Dhumal.

He added that according to Chief Minister, Opposition is not supposed to raise the issues of corruption and it appears that no one can question corrupt practices, while Virbhadra Singh can indulge in such immoral acts.

Dhumal alleged that recently a land of temple at Mcleod Ganj at Dharamshala was given on lease to a person from Punjab. “Now, it is the people of the State who will decide that who has been maintaining relations with relatives of Punjab,” said Dhumal. He added that during previous BJP Government total of 1649 permissions were given under Section 118 of Himachal Pradesh land Ceiling and Tenancy Act which comprises 14, 500 bighas of land while during previous Congress tenure total of 2,398 permissions were given under section 118, which comprises 18,500 bighas. “It is clearly evident from the records that who had put the Himachal Pradesh on sale,” said Dhumal. He alleged that since the Virbhadra Singh Government has come back to power, development has been stalled in the State as the Government is indulged in mere transfer and posting of officials and corrupt practices.

On other State BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti, alleged that Congress party has struck a deal with cement companies of the State and is contesting the upcoming lok Sabha elections on the donations made by these companies and for the reason cement prices has been hiked in the State.

“Cement is being produced in the State but still it is sold expensive in comparison to neighbhouring States. Recently cement prices have been hiked by companies twice in two month, which indicates the deal between the companies and Congress Government,” said Satti.
