Virbhadra mocks BJP claims of winning more than 60 seats

Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said the BJP was claiming to win more than 60 seats in State Vidhan Sabha elections forgetting the fact that BJP Government failed on every front during its regime.

The Chief Minister while addressing a gathering at Alampur in Jaisinghpur constituency of Kangra district said the business community which was  believed to be staunch supporter of the BJP was annoyed because of the GST imposed on them by the NDA Government.

He said the BJP was a divided house as opposite to the Congress, which stood united and disciplined. He added that in Jaswan Pragpur there were numerous BJP candidates.

The Chief Minister said that the Government had achieved milestones in field of education and he was often criticised by the BJP for opening as many as 56 colleges and upgrading number of schools, adding that if the BJP opposes him on this very issue, this reveals  their narrow mindedness towards providing education to the children of the state.

He said that the Congress would certainly  win in upcoming Assembly elections, adding that he had reasons to say this  on the basis of massive development undertaken during the last five years. There was no area which didn’t witness development, added he.

Virbhadra Singh said  the Government had adequate funds for completion of works, the foundation stones of which had been laid today negating the allegations of the opposition that the government was laying foundation stones of the projects without budgetary provisions.

He also directed the officers to complete the works on priority.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced opening of Block Primary Education Office (BPEO) at Alampur, and construction of additional block of GSSS, Alampur.
