Senior Punjab BJP leader Vineet Joshi has been appointed as the Assistant Media Advisor to the Punjab Government. Joshi is also the national spokesperson of BJP Kisan Morcha. His appointment was made on Thursday by the Governor of Punjab.
Joshi, who would look after the media affairs of the Government, is the first saffron party leader to hold this post.
He has been active with various wings of the party for past 25-years, even during the days of terrorism in Punjab when he worked for the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for 11 years. For the past 10 years he has been working relentlessly as the media incharge of BJP Punjab.
Joshi’s family has been closely associated with BJP for the past two generations. His father and advocate of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Jai Ram Joshi has been the State president of Chandigarh unit of the BJP and is presently the member of National Council. His younger brother Saurabh Joshi is the municipal councillor in Chandigarh.
Joshi also holds the portfolio as the national spokesperson of the BJP Youth Morcha. He has been instrumental in highlighting farmer related issues. During the Bharat Suraksha Rath Yatra of BJP national president Rajnath Singh in 2006, he was the national media in-charge.
