Haryana Power Minister Anil Vij on Sunday conducted a surprise inspection at Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam’s grievance redressal cell in Rohtak, and reviewed the process of resolving consumer complaints. He directed the officers to ensure that all complaints are addressed within the stipulated time.
Vij spoke directly with consumers on phone in the presence of officers to check whether their complaints had been resolved. When he found that a complaint had remained unresolved even after 24 hours, he directed the Superintending Engineer (SE) to investigate and take action against the concerned staff.
The Minister further directed the SE to review all complaints that had not been resolved within four hours. He directed that an explanation be taken from the concerned staff and a report be submitted to him. Besides, he directed officers to ensure that electricity poles are not placed in drains, sewers, or roads. If any poles are found in such locations, they must be immediately relocated to appropriate places to avoid inconvenience to consumers.
Responding to a question asked by the media persons, Vij praised the Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling it excellent. He said that the reduction in taxes on household items will help lower household expenses, providing significant relief to the common man.
He further highlighted that the budget has addressed the needs of the common people, including an increase in the Kisan Credit Card limit from three lakh to five lakh rupees, which will contribute to the prosperity of farmers. Vij also mentioned that individuals with a monthly income of one lakh rupees, including those with additional work besides being employed, have been exempted from taxes, offering them substantial relief.
Vij said that the fleet of Haryana Roadways is being increased for the convenience of the citizens. The government will provide pure and healthy food to the passengers at the bus stands through tourism, for this some bus stands of the state have been taken as a pilot project. The Haryana Roadways will be made number one, on which work is being done with full seriousness. The location of the buses will also be known through the tracking system, which will be a great convenience for the citizens, he added.
