State vigilance and anti-corruption bureau on Wednesday filed a chargsheet against former health minister and 25 others in connection with a case related to irregularities in the recruitment on various posts at Solan Municipal Council.

Vigilance in the case with FIR number 4/06, dated December 2, 2006 submitted the report under section 420, 467, 468, 471, 120 (B) of IPC and 13 (2) of PC Act. The case is related to alleged irregularities when Bindal was president of Municipal council and the report was submitted in the court of special judge at Solan. The next date of hearing of case is August 20.

Earlier, this month on July 9, State Government had granted prosecution sanction against Rajeev Bindal and vigilance bureau had initiated the investigation in the case, thereafter. According the allegations, Bindal had recruited nearly 27 persons while he was president of the Solan Municipal Council by flouting the norms. Though Vigilance bureau had lodged the case during previous Congress regime but after BJP came to power, no major headway was made in investigation. Former Assembly speaker Tulsi Ram even refused to grant prosecution sanction saying that that case has no ample evidence.

Meanwhile, BJP has criticised the move  and had said that based on baseless allegations Congress Government is playing politics of vendetta and deliberately targeting BJP leaders to malign their image and public profile.
