The State vigilance and anti-corruption bureau probing into the Congress “charge sheet” has lodged its first FIR in the much hyped Bemloe Developers case of Shimla district which was vociferously raised during previous BJP Government.
According to the police officials, a criminal case under Section 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of IPC and Section 33 of Indian Forest Act has been registered at police station of State vigilance in Shimla. Officials said that it has been revealed during the preliminary enquiry that a forged application and false documents were prepared to cheat the Government. “This was done to give gain to Bemloe Development and Infrastructure Company Pvt ltd and loss to the State Government by hatching a conspiracy,” said a Vigilance official. During inquiry, it has been found that the road is not used by the applicants/residents around the proposed site of construction of residential society and they have deposed that they have not signed any application containing request for repair and maintenance of the forest road. Hence, prima facie it seems that Bemloe Development & Infrastructure Company Pvt ltd is the only beneficiary from the repair and maintenance of this path. The kuccha path has been widened enough to accommodate the beneficiaries so that vehicles can ply in the forest path, which is against the forest laws. This construction site of Bemloe Developers is situated in the foothills of Shimla and a forest road is in question, which was widened for movement of heavy vehicles to sites.
