The Dalit gangrape victim from Haryana’s Hisar district, who had sent a notice to Salman Khan for his recent comment on rape on Thursday, approached National Commission for Scheduled Caste seeking justice.

The survivor of gangrape had served a Rs10-crore damage notice on Salman Khan while asking him to tender a public apology over his alleged remark about rape victims.

During the hearing of National Commission for Scheduled Caste here on Thursday, the victim appeared before the Commission seeking strict action against the actor.

After hearing the victim, the NCSC vice-chairman Raj Kumar Verka issued a notice to Mumbai Police Commissioner seeking reply on the matter within 15 days.

Khan had sparked a controversy by saying that his heavy training schedule for his upcoming film Sultan left him feeling “like a raped woman”. He made the comments during an interview to promote Sultan that tells the story of an ageing wrestler trying to make a comeback.

The rape victim was kidnapped by 10 people and gang-raped in Hisar four years ago. Following this, the victim’s father had even committed suicide.

Four out of 10 accused have been sentenced with life imprisonment and the victim has moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking death penalty for them.

She had said that Salman Khan had tried to joke about the plight of rape victims by comparing a tough action sequence to the status of a gangraped woman.

The legal notice issued to the actor had stated, “My client has felt and is passing through very troublesome period of psychological trauma by heart and mind by your statement of the rape victims-like feelings in the print media and social media. Your statement dated 21-06-2016 is solely responsible for her mental and psychological degradation and she is in touch with psychiatrist for counselling.’’

“Your statement is wrong, illegal and against the spirit of Constitution of India and you are liable for every type of civil, criminal liabilities,” the notice said.

A case was also registered in Kanpur and lucknow courts against Salman Khan for the statement.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also summoned the Bollywood actor to appear before it on July 8 in connection with his controversial remarks while Maharashtra State Commission for Women (MSCW) had a day before issued a fresh summon asking him to appear before it on July 7.
