Vadra's land deal probe: Cong calls it political vendetta

Published on:

Hitting out at the BJP Government for setting up a judicial commission to look into the deals of a “businessman”, the Congress party on Friday termed the move as nothing but “political vendetta”.

The party maintained that the BJP was targeting Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi, to garner votes in his name. “The motive behind setting up of judicial commission to probe land deals in Haryana is just to harass him (Vadra) and smacks of political vendetta,” said Congress national spokesperson Rajeev Shukla.

He said: “Earlier also Vasundhra Raje could not do or bring anything out against Vadra...Now, Haryana government has set up a judicial commission to probe a private businessman's deals…let’s see what they’ll do!” Haryana Government, on May 14, had constituted a one-man commission to probe into the alleged illegal land deals, Vadra’s company and real estate player DlF, during the previous Congress regime in the state.
