In a bid to ensure pubic participation to realise the much-hyped convention centre project at Beant Singh Memorial here, the UT Administration would organise a public participation meeting.
The public participation meeting would be organised on October 9 from 5 pm to 6:30 pm at Open Air Theatre, Beant Singh Memorial Complex, Sector 42 here.
The Convention Centre at the Memorial is proposed to have a multi-use convention hall with a seating capacity for over 1,000 persons and to provide a venue for conferences of international and national level as well as for other activities such as films, music, performing arts, and exhibitions.
A senior UT official said that it would be an open invitation for local architects, theatre personalities, people having interest in the field of art and culture to share their ideas on the planning of the proposed convention centre.
