The Chandigarh police on Monday got a production warrant of Basant Kumar, the dismissed Constable of Chandigarh police who stabbed Inspector Sucha Singh to death, from a Sonipat court.
A team of Haryana Police on Monday produced Basant Kumar in a court in Sonipat where a team of Chandigarh police asked for a production warrant for further investigation. Basant will be brought to Chandigarh along with his accomplice Sarita on June 13.
Meanwhile, Haryana Police have arrested driver Ravi Kumar, resident of Manimajra, for helping Basant to remain out of police reach in the past few weeks.
Inspector General of Chandigarh police, R P Upadhyaya said that when Basant is brought to Chandigarh on production warrant, the police will try to figure out if any other individual had helped
him during when he traveled from Chandigarh to Delhi after killing Inspector Sucha Singh.
Chandigarh police will be investigating the murder of Inspector Sucha Singh and fraudulently getting Government weapon issued and misusing it.
