A major reshuffle is on the cards in the Union Territory Administration to settle the ongoing fight between Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Shayin and Sub divisional magistrate (SDM south) Amandeep Kaur.
A meeting of senior Union Territory officials was convened by Punjab Governor and Union Territory Administrator Shivraj Patil on Monday.
Sources said that the issue of complaint against DC by SDM (south) was discussed and the UT Administration has planned a major reshuffle to resolve the issue.
Amandeep Kaur, a PCS officer, had made a complaint against Haryana cadre IAS officer Shayin, leveling allegations of not only mental harassment but also causing stress and strain and hurting self-respect with biased attitude. A letter in this regard was sent to KK Sharma, Adviser to Administrator by Amandeep Kaur.
The SDM-cum-Secretary, Red Cross, in her representation to Adviser had alleged that the DC-cum-Chairman, Red Cross, has totally undermined her post as warning letters, show-cause notices and distribution of work are being handled by him directly.
Besides transferring Amandeep Kaur from her current post, the Union Territory Administration is likely to transfer Union Territory Director Public Relations MM Sabharwal who has come under fire after major goof-up during Independence Day. The translation of Union Territory Administrator Shivraj Patil's Independence Day speech was full of bloopers.
