UPA Govt has failed to bring any change in N-E States: BJP

Published on:

The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Friday alleged that the UPA Government has failed to bring any change in North-Eastern States of the country. Speaking at the seminar on Ignored North-East India and BJP’s Vision organised by BJP on Friday, Sunil Deodhar, BJP national convener, North East India Sampark Cell (NEISC), said that north-eastern states don’t even accommodate basic facilities like hospitals, educational institutes and good roads. We salute the people of Arunachal Pradesh who have been protecting India from Chinese infiltration. Besides, we are thankful to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who formed a special Ministry for the development of North-East States during NDA rule, he said.

He commented on security issues plaguing the North-East India and highlighted the weak approach of the Central Government led by Congress towards Chinese incursions here. Chandigarh BJP president, Sanjay Tandon said, “The sad incident of Nido Tania’s death in Delhi has brought forward the need to bridge the gap between North-Eastern States and rest of India. BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi has strongly taken up the issue of developing North-East India. He has also highlighted that budget being allocated to these States was not enough and has said that equitable share of revenue should reach in  these areas for the development.”
