Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the State on November 2 to participate in the Antyodaya Sammelan scheduled to be held in Karnal. He said a big Sammelan will be organized in which beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat, pension schemes, and other related welfare schemes will be invited.

Addressing media persons after attending the felicitation ceremony for the players held at Karnal, Khattar stated that Haryana had requested the Union Home Minister to visit on Haryana Day, which falls on November 1, but Shah’s schedule was busy.

Regarding the SYL (Sutlej-Yamuna Link) canal issue, the Chief Minister said that the matter is in the Supreme Court, and the Court’s judgments are in favour of Haryana. The Supreme Court has clarified that they are not giving any judgment about water distribution. Therefore, it is necessary to build the canal first. He also emphasized the need to rise above politics on this issue.

On the issue of stubble burning the Chief Minister shared that they have been creating awareness among farmers about not burning stubble. Agriculture and other departments are actively involved in their work to reduce stubble burning, and the number of cases has been minimal.
