An unidentified body of a man was found floating in the Sukhna lake on Tuesday morning. The age of the deceased is being speculated to be around 50-year, said the police patrolling team which recovered the body.
However the cause of death is still shrouded in mystery as during the preliminary investigations no injuries marks were found and at the same time no suicide note was recovered, said Mini Bhardwaj, a police officer in charge of the area.
The body was first noticed by a patrolling team, near the stair number 4, at around 11 am. Immediately the incident was reported to the concerned officials. later the body was fished out from the water by a team of divers.
Police have still not been able to identify the body, even after a thorough search no such object was found which could ascertain the identity of the deceased person.
Meanwhile, the body was sent to Government Multi Specialty Hospital in Sector-16 for postmortem, which will be carried out only after the deceased is identified, said sources.
