The Under Secretary of Haryana law department was abducted, thrashed and thrown from moving car, by a group of unknown persons, here on Monday. The accused persons snatched away the belongings and car of the official, said police.
The incident took place in the wee hours, while the victim, Ishwar Chand, posted as Under Secretary in Haryana law department, went to drop his son at ISBT sector-43 on his car (CH01AN 7163). While Chand was on the way to his residence, a group of four unknown persons stopped him on the pretext of inquiring the route to Sector-17. Suddenly, one of the accused persons took his car keys and starting beating to him and pushed him on rear seat of car. One boy sitting on driver seat and two sit in rear side and threat him to sit quite.
The accused persons thrashed him and also snatched his purse, mobile and watch. The accused later threw him from moving car at Kurali area of Mohali and sped away from the spot, said Surjeet Singh Malik, DSP, UT police. A case has been registered against unknown persons and further investigations are under progress, added the DSP.
