Two youths were stabbed to death by unidentified assailants near a cremation ground on Jind road late on Tuesday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Sumit of Kharkhoda town and Ramesh of Rajgarh village in Jind.
Though the police have started probing into the matter after registering a case of murder against the unidentified killers on the complaint of the deceased’s kin, no clue has been found as yet.
The assault was carried out when Sumit and Ramesh were on their way on a motor-bike. As they reached near the cremation ground, some armed-assailants attacked them with sharp-edged weapons, said the police.
Sumit died on the spot while Ramesh succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment in PGIMS here after sometime.
The police, on getting information, rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. later, a team of forensic experts also visited the scene of crime and took some blood samples from there.
“Efforts are being made to identify the killers while no breakthrough has so far been achieved in preliminary investigation of the case. Kin of the deceased declined to have enmity with any one,” said a police spokesman, adding that investigation was being made from various angles.
Bodies of the youths were handed over to their kin on Wednesday after getting their postmortem done from the PGIMS here, he maintained.
