On the allegations of corruption, two Punjab police personnel were arrested and suspended. They have been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Baljinder Singh and head constable (HC) Gulab Singh. In an FIR lodged by the victim Saraj Singh, resident of Nasirpur Janian village, he alleged that both the officials conducted a raid at his house on June 1 in search of drugs. When nothing was found, the accused asked Singh to accompany them, said the police. The officials asked him to pay Rs50,000, and threatened to implicate him in a drug case.
