Punjab Chief Parliamentary Secretary and SAD MlA from Dera Bassi NK Sharma has been slapped with another criminal complaint for constructing Savitry Greens-II project at Ghazipur village in Zirakpur “without obtaining the mandatory environment clearance”.
“The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) filed its second criminal complaint in the court of sub-divisional judicial magistrate at Dera Bassi on November 26 against NK Sharma Enterprises for constructing Savitry Greens-II project at Ghazipur village in Zirakpur without obtaining mandatory EC,” stated a Government official.
This is the second complaint against Sharma. Earlier, a criminal complaint was filed against the company on October 18 for not obtaining the EC as per the notification issued by the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests for company’s Savitry Greens project at Bishanpura village.
Sharma has been alleged for furnishing false affidavits to the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) and the PPCB in his application for obtaining the environment clearance regarding construction status of the project.
The PPCB gave him the NOC for Savitry Greens housing project at Ghazipur village despite flouting norms and providing misleading information.
The allegations of making serious violations and fluting norms were made against Sharma by the Congress ex-MlA and spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira, who also lodged a formal complaint against him to the Secretary, Science and Technology on November 22 for the alleged violations of the PPCB rules.
