Punjab Government on Tuesday announced the transfer policy 2014-15 of the State Education Department.

Announcing the policy, Education Minister Sikandar Singh Maluka said that the interested teaching and non-teaching staff can submit their requests for transfers to the district education officers (DEOs) concerned through proper channel by May 26, so that the transfer process could be

completed within a stipulated time frame.

He informed that the lists of vacant stations have already been uploaded on the Education Department website and the website of the district education officers.

Transfer requests for inter-district levels would be sought in the second phase.

Adding further, he said that it was mandatory for the applicant to complete at least three years stay in the existing school before applying for transfer. Making it further clear, Maluka said that bare minimum transfers would be ordered that too based on the requirement of the schools. The transfers, he said, would be allowed only at vacant posts.

Education Minister categorically said that the transfers should be strictly as per the transfer policy. “The unmarried girls and widows should be given priority and efforts should be made to adjust them to nearest stations….The opportunity to these categories would be done only once as per the rules,” he added.

Maluka said that the teachers of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) seeking transfers would be adjusted only in the schools under RMSA.
