IPS officers of the 1987 batch, MK Tiwari, CSR Reddy and Dinkar Gupta have been promoted to the Director General of Police (DGP) rank in Punjab.
Tiwari has been posted as DGP-cum-managing director of Punjab Police Housing Corporation.
Gupta has been appointed the new DGP (Intelligence) by creating the new post and keeping the cadre post of ADGP (Intelligence) in abeyance.
Reddy was appointed DGP Investigation and lokpal, and Bhawra was given the charge of DGP (Provisioning and Modernisation) by upgrading their respective ex-cadre posts of ADGP ranks.
ADGP Special Task Force (Drugs) Harpreet Singh Sidhu was given the additional charge of ADGP (Border).
Among other IPS officers include the names of Dilbagh Singh posted as DIG (Training), Baljot Singh Rathore posted as DIG (GRP), Patiala, Harcharan Singh Bhullar posted as AIG, Crime, Bureau of Investigation, Deepak Hilori posted in Intelligence Wing, Harjeet Singh posted as Barnala SSP, while Jagdale Nilambari Vijay has been posted as Commandant-cum-Deputy Director at MRS PPA Phillaur.
PPS Officers Raj Bachan Singh Sandhu has been posted as Rupnagar SSP, Opinderjit Singh Ghuman as Batiala SSP, Darshan Singh Mann as Tarn Taran SSP, among others.
