The holy town of Kurukshetra will witness the arrival of lord Tirupati Balaji on March 8 as the Tirumalar Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) is organising the annual wedding ceremony of the Gods here for the first time. In the holy event, lord Vishnu’s marriage to Bhudevi and Sridevi would take place at Purshotam Pura Bagh at the sacred Brahmsarover here.

The TTD is building a Triputi Balaji temple at the eastern side of holy Brahmsarover at a cost of Rs30 crore. A team comprising of TTD officials with Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) visited the site to decide the arrangements for the function as several VVIP’s are expected to witness the occasion.

Prakash Babu an official of TTD said this is first time this kind of a religious function is taking place in the northern part of India. He said that participation in mahotsav will be free though it is chargeable at Tirupati Temple. He said participants would not be allowed to carry any leather item on their person. Prasad for this mahotsav to be distributed will be brought from Tirupati.
