Three members of a family in Jagadhari Gate in Ambala City, committed suicide on Wednesday morning apparently due to financial reasons.
The deceased were identified as Rajiv Sabherwal (42), his wife Renu (35) and son Tushar (6). They were found dead in a locked room. The victim’s mother went to their room in the morning but when they did not come out despite repeated knocks, she informed the neighbors and other relatives. The door was broken and the three were found dead. The police was informed about the incident soon after.
Police found two suicide notes in the room stating that they were fed up with financial crisis and heavy loans and ending their life due to poverty for which no one was responsible. Police also recovered a bottle containing ‘sulphas’ tablets in the room. Bodies were sent to the civil hospital for postmortem. The deceased Rajiv had a wholesale confectionery business in the past but suffered heavy losses and was unemployed for the past two years.
