Senior BJP leader and former Himachal Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal on Wednesday said that those indulging in scams seem to have joined hands against Narender Modi, prime ministerial candidate of BJP, fearing that if he came to power there might be a crackdown on them.
“Those having huge deposits in the foreign banks were also alarmed fearing if Modi came to power he would take firm steps to retrieve the black to the State exchequer,” he said while talking to The Pioneer. Dhumal said the frenzied and panicked persons were repeating over and again that there was no Modi wave either in Himachal or in the country. It only proved there was an inexorable Modi wave for a change sweeping across the country, he claimed.
The former Chief Minister said it was highly shocking and intriguing that some so-called crusaders against corruption had joined hands with the so-called secular forces were targeting Modi, a person with unblemished long political life.Dhumal made a passionate call to the people of Himachal Pradesh to leave no stone unturned to make the country Congress free as all the present problems country was facing were the creation of Congress.
The leader of Opposition alleged that the Congress led UPA Government had meted out grave injustice to Himachal Pradesh. UPA did not give Himachal its rightful share in power projects built in Himachal and based on its water sources. He said it was the UPA Government which withdrew the special economic package granted to Himachal Pradesh by former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
