The disbursement of various social security pensions through banks and post office banks under “Thari Pension Thare Paas” scheme in Haryana has gradually grown to 4919 villages and all the 81 towns covering almost 80 per cent of the pensioners.
Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Kavita Jain said that 19 lakh pensioners are covered under the scheme now.
She said that the disbursement of social security pension through banks and post office banks was started with 51 villages from the month of pension of February, 2015, paid in March 2015.
At present, there are over 23.3 lakh beneficiaries getting benefit under various social security schemes upon which an expenditure of Rs270 crore monthly is being incurred.
The Minister said that some beneficiaries had not opened and uploaded their bank accounts till end of October despite three notices. So far, 7,16,978 beneficiaries, who have opened their bank accounts late, have till now been given arrears from March to August amounting to Rs83.49 crore by crediting the same into their bank accounts.
