Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday said that he was personally peeved over the incident in which a woman was thrashed by the Policemen in Tarn Taran district on Monday.
Interacting with mediaperson, the Chief Minister said that it was an unfortunate and condemnable incident, which could not be tolerated at any cost.
Badal said that he had already ordered a magisterial probe to look into the matter and strict action would be taken against the persons found guilty in it.
Reiterating the State Government’s commitment to protect the dignity and honour of the women, Badal said that this was an unpardonable offence and anyone connected with this grave crime, however influential he may be, would not be spared and brought to book as per the law of the land.
He said that the State Government was keeping a strict vigil over the law and order situation in the state and no one would be allowed to disturb the hard earned peace of Punjab.
