Haryana Power Minister Ranjit Singh on Monday said that a target has been set to provide uninterrupted power supply to make Gurugram and Panchkula inverter-free cities and develop these cities as model cities.
The Minister presided over a review meeting of the Power Department here.
Singh, while talking to the mediapersons said that it has been discussed to provide uninterrupted power supply to Gurugram and Panchkula.
He said that it is our priority to address the power cut issues in advance so that 24 hour power supply can be ensured across the state.
Many cases of power pole damage caused by heavy storms occur in the month of June-July and now, marking of the poles is being done to overcome this problem. If this experiment becomes successful in these two cities after identifying and rectifying the obstacles in this project, it will also be implemented in the entire state, he added.
He said that our goal is to provide 24-hour power supply to entire Haryana and in the same manner we are providing 24-hour power supply to about 5300 villages across the state.
He further said it is our priority to provide the tubewell connections to all the farmers within 6 months in the state. Such connections will be given in Fatehabad and Sirsa districts by the end of July.
About 50,000 tubewell connections have been applied by the farmers, out of which about 35,000 connections have been given and the rest will be given soon, the Minister added.
During the meeting with officers of the Department, the Minister directed the officials concerned to expedite the work of giving new water tubewell connections in Fatehabad-Sirsa circle in a time bound manner.
