A 32-year-old tantrik was arrested by Chandigarh police for allegedly attempting to rape a 22-year-old woman who had approached him to get a job for her by using his divine powers, police said on Tuesday.
The woman, a resident of Patiala, who had been living here on paying guest accommodation (PG), had approached Vikesh Kumar to get a job for herself by using his divine powers and reached his office in Sector-46 on Tuesday afternoon. When she reached the office premises, Vikesh who was already under the influence of liquor, asked her to show him the moles of her body in order to help her in getting a good job with his tantric rituals.
However, when she opposed it, he attempted to rape her forcibly in his office itself. The woman, however, managed to escape from his office and informed Police Control Room (PCR). A team of UT police reached the spot and arrested Vikesh from his office.
In her complaint to police, the victim said she came in contact with Vikesh through his advertisements in daily newspapers. Vikesh, a resident of Mohali phase-VII had opened his Tantrik ritual’s office at Sector-46 and also published several advertisements in daily newspapers. “A case of attempt to rape against Vikesh Kumar has been registered on the statement of the girl. The accused will be produced in court on Wednesday.
