Kiran Choudhry, leader of the Haryana Congress legislature Party (ClP), has taken umbrage at the Health and Sports Minister, Anil Vij making “irresponsible statements and throwing a dampener” on the proposals to build Ch Bansi lal Sports University and a medical college in Bhiwani. In a statement issued here, she asked Chief Minister Manohar lal to snub Vij and stop him from making anti-people statements.
Both projects had been sanctioned by the UPA Government. The statement of Vij that he has not received any proposal for setting up a medical college or sports university in Bhiwani flies in the face of the ground-level reality, she added. She said work is apace on Ch Bansi lal Sports University the foundation stone of which had been laid by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, during the previous regime.
Describing Bhiwani a “little Cuba” of sportspersons of Haryana, Choudhry said sportspersons from Bhiwani had brought laurels both to the State and the country in national and international events.
