In another decision in the ongoing SYl row, the Punjab Cabinet on Tuesday approved return of the entire money received from Haryana in respect of SYl immediately to the Government.
This was in continuation of passing of the Punjab Satluj-Yamuna link Canal (Transfer of Property Rights) Bill, 2016, in which the State Government has decided to return the land acquired from the farmers.
A spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office said that the Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal reiterated the SAD-BJP alliance Government's firm commitment not to allow even a single drop of its river waters to Haryana, adding that since water was the lifeline of Punjab, the question of sharing it with anyone does not arise.
