SYl judgment will be binding for all: Hry CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Sunday said that the SYl canal matter pending in the Supreme Court had been expedited by the Government.

The judgment would ultimately favour Haryana and it would have to be accepted by all, said the Chief Minister while interacting with mediapersons at Jagadhri in Yamunanagar district.

Notably, the Haryana Assembly had on Friday unanimously passed a resolution condemning Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s recent statement that Punjab and Punjabis will not accept any verdict against the state's interest on river waters.

Punjab CM Badal had last week while referring to the contentious issue of Sutlej Yamuna link (SYl) canal said that Punjab and Punjabis will not accept Supreme Court’s verdict against the state's interest on river waters and are ready to make any sacrifice to safeguard their legitimate share on it.

Badal had said this while addressing the public gathering in Amritsar on November 1 on the occasion of 50th year of Punjabi Suba celebrations, in which Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and BJP president Amit Shah, were also present.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Manohar lal also expressed the confidence that the BJP would form the next government after the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2017. He said that having won the lok Sabha elections, the party would also emerge victorious in UP, and, if other parties formed alliances, it would directly benefit the BJP.
