Swaraj India declares its 2nd list of 8 candidates

Published on:

Swaraj India party on Monday announced its second list of eight candidates, taking the total number of candidates announced so far to 18 and also announced Jan Sarokar Abhiyan from September 1 ahead of the Haryana Assembly polls.

Addressing a news conference here, party President Yogendra Yadav also listed BJP led-state government’s failures on various important issues like unemployment and crime against women.

He said Swaraj India will launch Jan Satokar Abhiyan from September 1 to expose the truth about the claims being made in the Jan Ashirvad Yatra of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The Abhiyan will be led by Yadav.

He also slammed Centre government over economic slowdown due to its poor economic policy and said that the Country’s economic is in crisis. GDP has been declining for the last three quarters; slow down in automobile sector and FMCG sector, job loss and job crisis. The government has not come out with plan to boost the Indian economy, he said, adding no step has been taken to revive rural economic. If rural economy boosts, consumer’s demand will automatically increase.

The Swaraj India chief accused Khattar of misleading the people on this issue in the course of his Jan Ashirvaad Yatra. Highlighting the government’s ineptness, Yadav said that unfortunately the youth of the state suffered from frauds committed by the INLD government, the corruption and nepotism of the Congress government and now the sheer incompetence of the BJP government. "It is a cruel irony that the government responsible for unemployment of lakhs is trying to wash its sins away by claiming a few thousand jobs," he said.

Citing the latest report “Unemployment in India, January-April 2019” released by Centre for Monitoring of Indian Economy, he pointed out that Haryana is No. 1 among the major states when it comes to Unemployment Rate. While the national figure for unemployment was 6.9 per cent, it was 20.5 per cent in Haryana, nearly thrice as high as the national average. Tripura was the only state that recorded higher unemployment than Haryana.

Taking Khattar Government to task for its dismal performance on protecting women security, Shalini Malivya presidium member of Swaraj India presented evidence on this score.

Between 2015 and 2018, the incidents of rape went up from 961 to 1413, incident of harassment went up from 1833 to 2380 and kidnapping from 1644 to 3494. Far from the slogan of Beti Bachao this government is busy in protecting rapists in the state where the PM had launched Beti Bachao campaign with much fan fare.
