Sushil Indora is HJC's Sirsa candidate

In another flip flop, Kuldeep Bishnoi, president of Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) on Thursday announced that Sushil Indora of his party would contest the parliamentary elections from Sirsa lok Sabha seat.

Earlier, HJC was supposed to contest from Karnal and had even announced the name of Chander Mohan as the candidate. Mohan withdrew his name and HJC sought Sirsa seat and left Karnal for its ally BJP. The BJP had registered its opposition to Mohan’s name as it was construed as dynastic politics.

Earlier, former Union Minister and Congress MlA from Ambala Venod Sharma was set to contest from Karnal on HJC ticket after quitting Congress on March 5. The move could not take off  due to stiff opposition by senior BJP leaders at national level. Even Bishnoi didn’t agree on the name of Avinash Paliwal for this seat. Karnal is considered to be a traditional seat of Brahmins.

Sources said it was a compulsion for Bishnoi to change the constituency under HJC quota from Karnal to Sirsa. He had changed the names of probable candidates from Avinash Paliwal to Venod Sharma to Chander Mohan for Karnal. In Sirsa, Bishnoi has got a strong candidate Sushil Indora who remained an MP for two times. He will face congress party’s sitting MP Ashok Tanwar and INlD’s sitting MlA Charanjit Singh.
